Fire Safety Code Resources

Do you or your customers and clients have concerns or questions about the new fire safety code? Are you receiving conflicting instructions about where to place smoke and carbon monoxide detectors or are not sure which multi-family will require sprinklers or new alarms? Here are some resources:

• If you have questions about the fire safety code, contact the State Fire Marshal’s Office at 401-462-4200 or go to   http://www.fire-marshal.ri.gov/

• To find out how to apply for a variance from the requirements, contact the Fire Safety Code Board of Appeal and Review, at 401-462-0940 or go to http://www.fsc.state.ri.us/
