State-Wide MLS offers an ever-growing list of technology-based products and services that, when used to their potential, will certainly enhance your business. However, to really take advantage of what these products have to offer, proper user training and access to expert knowledge is critical.
A reminder to all MLS Members: Matrix training guides can be accessed by logging into Matrix and clicking ‘Help’ from the top menu bar.
The below MLS classes are FREE to all State-Wide MLS Members and held at the RI Association of REALTORS ® at 100 Bignall Street in Warwick. All classes are held in the MLS Technical Training Room (computers are provided, please have your MLS ID and Password with you for class).
Make your reservation for any State-Wide MLS classes by logging into the RIAR/MLS Gateway, select ‘Register Online’ and choose from the ‘MLS Only’ classes – ‘Add to Cart’ – ‘Register Now’ OR by visiting the MLS Training Calendar from the RIAR Course Calendar drop down menu.
A $25.00 no-show fee will be billed if class reservation is not cancelled prior to class start time.

Intro to MLS/Matrix for New Agents
This class gives members the required knowledge of MLS Rules, Regulations and Policies so that you can provide service to your clients while avoiding difficulties, penalties and fees. This class also gives some brief hands-on training using the MATRIX system, focusing on the search features. You will also learn where to find all the resources you need to conduct your daily real estate business. This class is beneficial for all new member who have recently joined MLS.
Intro to Matrix Search & Portal
This three-hour hands-on course will get members familiar with the Matrix home page and cover detailed searching, printing, emailing and saving searches as well as setting up auto-emails. Members will also learn how their clients can use the Matrix Client Portal. Members should be prepared to use their personal email in class and be able to access that email account from an internet connected PC in our classroom.
Matrix Listing Input
In this 2 hour hands-on course, members will become familiar with Matrix and how to enter and edit listings, as well as add photos and attachments to listings, reverse prospecting, and using hit counters. *Recommended for office administrators or any member who inputs their own listings using Matrix.
PLEASE NOTE: Anyone attending this class should have either previously attended the Intro to Matrix Search & Portal class OR be proficient in searching properties on Matrix.
Using Matrix you can access MLS data, add FSBO data and use information from public records to add comparable properties, make adjustments and customize the CMA report. In this 3 hour hands-on course, members will be shown how to use the Matrix CMA wizard from start to finish to create a thorough CMA report for a buyer or seller and in addition learn how to use and customize Matrix Stats and create custom statistical reports.
TransactionDesk by Instanet Hands-On
Instanet provides members with everything they need to manage their real estate forms and transactions online. In this hands-on class you will learn how to find on-line forms and contracts using InstaNet along with entering and managing your clients and any documents that may pertain to their transaction. Learn to keep track of all post-offer documents, share with all applicable parties to the transaction and edit from any computer with internet access.
Using DocBox & Authentisign
**Students must have purchased the TransactionDesk upgrades in Instanet in order to attend this class.
Learn how to use the optional upgrades for Instanet that allow you to store your documents with your transaction and utilize digital signing. This is a hands-on session where students will create a mock transaction, add documents and then send forms and documents out for digital signing. Students should attend the Instanet Hands-On session or be proficient with Instanet prior to registering for this course. Students will need to be able to access their email from our classroom.
Intro to MLS for New Brokers Webinar
**This Webinar is mandatory for all New Brokers joining MLS
This webinar gives you the required knowledge of MLS Rules, Regulations and Policies so that you can manage a successful office and avoid difficulties, penalties and fees. During this class we will go over some of the MLS Rules and Regulations, policies, fees (and penalties), billing and membership procedures that you, as a broker, are responsible for, as well as provide some required forms and demonstrate their use. You will also learn where to find all the resources you need to conduct your daily real estate business.
PLEASE NOTE: When registering for a webinar please register at least 1 day prior to the webinar starting. Start by selecting the date of the Webinar you would like to “attend” from the drop down menu. Once you enter the information requested it will prompt you to set up ‘GOTO Meeting’. Upon registering you will automatically receive an e-mail with the link and information you need to view the Webinar at the start time.
