Become a Microsoft Specialist – FAQS

What is the benefit to real estate licensees/administrators for earning MOS certification?

By earning the certifications and passing the MOS examinations you will have learned how to utilize the Microsoft product efficiently and to its full potential that can be applied to creating property and open house flyers, reports, presentations, booklets, financial reporting, business correspondence and more.

Where can I find more information about what is covered in the MOS examinations and objectives?

How should I prepare/schedule the exams?

It is recommended to complete the self-assessments and lessons using the Jasperactive program in each certification you are trying to obtain.   When ready, you should move on to taking practice examinations in G-Matrix.   Once confidant with your scores, you should then schedule your examination which will be timed.

You will need to do this for each certification you are trying to obtain.

How to Schedule the Exam?

When you are ready to take the exam, contact Roger Williams University College Providence  at mbeltre@rwu.edu.   Examinations are done through PearsonVUE at the RWU Providence campus at 1 Empire Street, Providence.  **Walk-Ins are NOT permitted**

Who to contact for program registration specific questions, and questions relating to Roger Williams University College credits/ACE credits, RWU email addresses, access to RWU email address and Microsoft Office 2016 products?

Questions on how to get Real Estate CEs?

In order to receive CE’s (6 CE awarded per Microsoft product) you MUST pass the examinations and earn the certification.   Once you obtain the certification, please contact professionaldevelopment@rirealtors.org to receive the CEs.

How long do I have to earn the certification?

Fast Track registrants have until October 15th, 2019.

Complete and Self-Guided packages have until April 30th, 2020.

What happens if I fail an examination?

Included in the price are 4 examinations total.   If you are trying to obtain all 4 certifications and fail any, the cost is $100.00 per re-test.

What if I don’t want to earn all 4 certifications?

Because the cost is a discounted bundle, it is up to the learner if they want to just obtain 1 or all 4 certifications.   The bundled price for 4 certifications and exams is still below the average price to earn just one without the RIAR/RWU partnership.
