April marks the 5oth Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. Signed into law on April 11, 1968, the Fair Housing Act protects people from discrimination while “renting, buying, or securing financing for any housing.” Regardless of race, religion, or disability, this landmark legislation ensures that all Americans are entitled to Fair Housing.
As part of its year-long commemoration of Fair Housing, the National Association of REALTORS® has put together a series of videos depicting how Fair Housing makes our industry and country stronger, and the work yet to be done. See the impact of the Fair Housing Act by watching the videos on nar.realtor.
Then share your Fair Housing story. NAR will showcase selected stories online and on social media as part of its anniversary commemoration. Topics include Fair Housing history, commemoration activities or how Fair Housing has made your business or community stronger.
