A new Whole Home Short-Term Rental Tax on short-term rentals of entire homes, cottages and condominium units will take effect on January 1, 2026 along with an increase in the local hotel tax. Warwick, R.I. – October 20, 2025 – After falling year over year in July and August, sales activity of single-family homes jumped in September, rising 19.5% from September 2024. At the same time, the median sales price climbed 9.3% to $530,000.
A Rhode Island REALTOR® reported in mid-October that a Level III Sex Offender had visited her open house. Fortunately, another person was in the home at the time, so the REALTOR® was not harmed. After reporting the incident, the REALTOR® learned that the same offender had visited other womens’ open houses in southeastern Massachusetts.
