In 2017, DEM launched two new online features, improving public access to OWTS records, making it easier for customers to retrieve historical files (full file contents for OWTS permitted before 1990 - previously stored on microfilm) and for applicants to complete the permitting process  with a downloadable Certificate of Conformance for OWTS permitted after 1990.) Now DEM is looking to expand these services even further by providing full file contents for OWTS permitted after 1990. The plan is to scan all file contents -- applications, soil evaluations, approved plans, inspection sheets, and other associated documents. Images of 60,000 conformed paper files will be linked to DEM’s existing online permit search after 1990 here; similar to the Freshwater Wetlands permit approvals.
