Rhode Island on Pause - What you need to know

UPDATE: 12/10/20- 12/10/20 Update-Gov. Gina M. Raimondo announced during her weekly coronavirus briefing that Rhode Island’s “pause” will be extended to Dec. 20 from its original deadline of Dec. 13. Restrictions on recreational facilities, bars and gyms will continue as is through Sunday, Dec. 20th and restrictions will be reduced in some areas following that date. Raimondo also announced that the state will be extending the deadline for affected businesses to apply for pause-related grants until midnight on Dec. 14. 11/19/20- Governor Gina Raimondo recently announced that Rhode Island will be hitting Pause for two weeks beginning Monday, November 30th through Sunday, December 13th. With new coronavirus cases and hospitalizations on the rise, the Pause aims to limit overall mobility and reduce the spread linked to social gatherings by calling for in-person colleges, bar areas, recreational venues and gyms to close, among other restrictions. Additionally, effective immediately social gatherings are limited to people who live in the same household. Unless specifically indicated via Executive Order, all Phase III restrictions and guidance will carry forward through the Pause.
