The Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® has approved the following forms changes, which were sent to authorized forms vendors on October 16, 2025. Please keep in mind that forms vendors post updates at different times.
▪Rhode Island Sale of Buyer’s Property Addendum
The Notice to Buyer to Waive Sale of Buyer’s Property Contingency and the Notice to Seller to Waive Sale of Buyer’s Property Contingency have been combined with the Sale of Buyer’s Property Addendum to make it easier for REALTORS® to find in one place. Vendors will remove the two standalone Notice forms from their applications.
The Forms Committee also revised Section 6 Performance Periods by removing references to the Inspections and Mortgage Contingencies. This section used to allow a buyer to wait to conduct inspections and/or apply for a mortgage until after a purchase and sales agreement for the buyer’s own home or property had been signed by all parties.
If a seller and buyer are willing to allow the buyer delay inspections and/or obtaining a mortgage this late in the transaction, the revised form gives them room to add that language.
