REALTOR Foundation: Rhode Island disburses 1st quarter grants

The REALTOR® Foundation: Rhode Island disbursed $5000 to multiple nonprofit organizations during its first quarter grant cycle. The funds were disbursed as follows:
  • Special Olympics Rhode Island – $500
  • Reach Out & Read Rhode Island (RORRI) – $1,000
  • Rebuilding Together Greater Newport – $750
  • We Heart Lives – $750
  • St. Mary’s Home for Children – $2,000

Special Olympics Rhode Island will use the grant help athletes and their families attend the 53rd Annual 2021 State Summer Games this June at no cost.

Reach Out and Read RI will use money to fund new books for children. In the last year, RORRI has provided more than 68,000 books children and their families.

Rebuilding Together Greater Newport will help a single mother of  three with repairs on their home, and also help Lucy’s Hearth, a family shelter in Middletown that aids an average of 170 families annually.

We Heart Lives will use the grant to purchase food and household items to help people experiencing food shortages, as well as others who have lost all of their belongings to recent home fires.

St. Mary’s Home for Children will use the funds to offset basic emergency needs of families in crisis, to include food, clothing, first aid supplies and toiletries. The organization will also provide welcome care packages to children entering care.

The Realtor Foundation: Rhode Island disburses quarterly grants each year. Applications for the next grant cycle are due May 15, 2020. Visit Realtor FoundationRI.org. for more information.
