Thanks to the generosity of all those who gave so generously during its recent Matching Grant campaign, the REALTOR® Foundation: RI was able to provide more than $20,000 in funding to the Rhode Island Foundation and Family Service of RI. The two non-profit organizations will use the funds to assist their COVID-10 relief initiatives.
On May 5th, the day the world celebrated the global giving event, GivingTuesdayNow, the Foundation announced the Matching Grant campaign to help those hurt by the pandemic. In the weeks that followed, every donation made to help Rhode Islanders affected by the coronavirus was matched dollar for dollar by State-Wide Multiple Listing Service and the REALTOR® Foundation: Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® also donated an additional $5000.
In addition to the Matching Grant funding, the Foundation also recently disbursed a $1000 check to the Gloria Gemma Foundation and a $3000 check to We Heart Lives in response to applications submitted for the Foundation’s second-quarter grant cycle. The Gloria Gemma Foundation will use the funds to provide support resources to those with cancer and on May 27th, We Heart Lives used the grant to provide 500 bags of groceries to feed 2000 Rhode Islanders.
For more than 20 years, the REALTOR® Foundation:RI has helped Rhode Island non-profit organizations whose mission shares that of its own: to help create more productive and enriched communities by offering financial and other forms of assistance to enhance quality of life and assist those affected by a personal or natural disaster.
