With the use of “Coming Soon” listings becoming a popular and effective marketing practice nationwide, MLS leadership and staff worked to create a solution where users would be able to take advantage of this trend while also remaining in compliance with rules and policies. Starting on Tuesday, January 30th, a new status was added to Matrix called “Coming Soon” which enables a property to be added and marketed by the listing agent, yet prohibits it from showing until it moves to an active status. By entering these properties in Matrix, not only can the promotion of the listing begin, but other MLS subscribers will be able to easily identify "Coming Soon" listings in their market area. "Coming Soon" listings include most of the same characteristics and requirements that standard active listings have in Matrix. However, new rules and system parameters do apply, and a "Coming Soon" submission form must be executed by the seller.
