New DBR Internet and Social Media Regulations

Are your real estate web sites and social media in compliance with the Department of Business Regulations new advertising regulations?

  • Web sites of an individual licensee and/or team must be now approved by the principal broker.  

On web sites and online advertising, the name of the brokerage and contact information of the brokerage must

  • appear in all online advertising and on websites.
  • appear on the home or landing page as well as on every page of the licensee or team’s advertisements or websites; and
  • be prominently displayed larger and close to the licensee’s or team’s information.

In social media advertising, the name of the brokerage must be

  • “prominently” displayed, larger and close to the licensee or team’s profile page, landing page and/or home page.
  • larger and accessible within ‘one (1) click’ or ‘one (1) tap’ of any character-limited post, section or page posted by or in the Licensee’s or Team’s account.
