You answer your phone, and a caller says, “Hi. I’m _______________. “Are you single? I’m going through the list of REALTORS® to find single women.” What would do if you received an unsettling call like this as a REALTOR® did earlier today?

• Trust your gut instinct and report the call to the police. Even if the person does not escalate, at
  least you’ll have a record of it.
• Dust off your office safety policy. What’s the protocol for open houses, meeting new clients,
  etc.? Does your brokerage use a buddy system or a safety app so that everyone can check in
  with each other?
