Warwick, R.I. – November 4, 2024 – Sales data released by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors indicates a jump in year-over-year single-family home sales in the third-quarter, compared to falling sales in the first two quarters of the year. The number of closed sales rose 8.5% compared to July through September of last year.
Warwick, R.I. – October 17, 2024 – The median price of single-family homes sold in September climbed 6.6% year-over-year, continuing a trend in Rhode Island that began in February 2017. The Rhode Island Association of Realtors reported sales statistics today showing that last month’s median sale price of $485,000 was $30,000 higher than September 2023.
Warwick, R.I. – September 20, 2024 – The median price of single-family homes sold last month in Rhode Island rose 9% year-over-year to $490,563 according to a report released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. Sales activity also increased from August 2023, rising 10.7%.
Warwick, R.I. – August 19, 2024 – The Rhode Island Association of Realtors recently released home sales data that showed the median price of single-family homes once again broke records in July, topping out at $495,000, a 12.5% gain from 12 months earlier. The number of listings on the market also rose from last year, rising 16.2%, helping to spark a 21.2% increase in sales activity. Pending sales, a leading indicator of future sales activity, stabilized after 30 consecutive months of decline.
August 2, 2024 – The median price of single-family homes sold in the second quarter rose to $470,130, a 9.3% increase from a year earlier. Sales activity fell by roughly the same percentage, dropping 8.7% year-over-year. Stiff competition caused by pent-up demand shortened the average time homes stayed on the market before going under contract to just four weeks.
Warwick, R.I. – July 22, 2024 – Despite a 32% increase in the number of single-family homes on the market since June of last year, the median price of Rhode Island homes sold last month continued to rise, hitting a new high of $494,000. The figure represented an 11.6% increase in median price from 12 months earlier, the Rhode Island Association of Realtors reported today.
Warwick, R.I. – June 21, 2024 -- Today, the Rhode Island Association of Realtors reported that the median price of residential property sales in Rhode Island soared to new heights in May, with multifamily home sales leading the pack. Multifamily homes with up to four units saw a 23.9% increase from the median price of $440,000 realized just 12 months earlier. The median price of multifamily homes has increased 78.7% in the past four years, hitting a new record of $545,000 last month.
Warwick, R.I. – May 17, 2024 – Rhode Island’s spring housing market started off with increased activity last month. The Rhode Island Association of Realtors reported that year-over-year sales of single-family homes rose by 6.3% from the previous April, marking just the second time since the beginning of 2022 that monthly sales have outpaced those of 12 months earlier.
Warwick, R.I. - April 18, 2024 - Though February brought a brief year-over-year hike in single-family home sales in Rhode Island, March resumed the trend of declining activity which has become the norm since 2021. The available supply of homes on the market remains critically low going into the spring selling season.
Warwick, R.I. – March 19, 2024 – The Rhode Island Association of Realtors reported that February sales of single-family homes experienced the first year-over-year increase in over two years. Despite the 13% uptick in sales from February of last year, which followed a drop in mortgage rates, closing activity remained well below normal.
