RI REALTORS® Pre-License Referral Program

The Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® has a referral program for those planning on registering for the 45-hour Sales Pre-License course.   Previously known as “sponsorships”, this referral program awards a $20 discount to eligible registrants and awards a free RIAR continuing education class toward maintaining their license to the referring REALTOR®.  Being referred is for a discount only and is not required to enroll in the course.  

How it Works

The referral must come from a real estate licensee who is a member of the RI Association of REALTORS®.   The REALTOR® must send an email to [email protected] PRIOR TO the student enrolling.   Referrals are not accepted after registration.

The email (from the REALTOR®) must include:

• The REALTOR®'s name and member number/MLS ID
• The student's name and email
• The email should have the student copied in the CC email field

Within 1 – 2 business days, RI REALTOR®’s Professional Development will respond with a unique coupon code for the student to use to save $20 off tuition. 

Once the student has attended 2 of the Sales Pre-License classes, the REALTOR® is now eligible to take any RI REALTOR® class up to 3 hours of elective or CORE continuing education.   The REALTOR® would email [email protected] and state they are using their free CE via the referral program and include the name and date of the course.

Considerations for REALTORS®

• REALTORS® are limited to 6 free courses per year under the referral program
• The free course is valid for 1 year
• Free courses include any class up to 3 CE/CORE classes only and may not be applied to courses that award more than 3 CE/CORE.
• Free courses may be applied toward live/Zoom or RIAR eLearning
• Referrals are eligible only after the student attends 2 Sales Pre-License classes.

Office Sponsor List

As part of the course materials in Sales Pre License, RI REALTORS® provides a list of offices that are members of the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® and have contacted us to say they are looking to work with new licensees.    This list is often a starting point for students to begin interviewing offices and finding a Principal Broker to sign their Salesperson Application.    If you are a principal broker who is a member of RI REALTORS® and would like to be included on this list, please email [email protected] with the contact name and info for the person you would like to be listed.
