Fair Housing

Fair Housing is now a requirement for both RI License renewal (for non-exempt licensees) and is required by the National Association of REALTORS®.    When taking courses with RI REALTORS® Professional Development Department, all Fair Housing courses (see below) fulfill the state and NAR requirements.   

Rhode Island Requirement

The 24-hours of continuing education requirement for non-exempt RI licensees to renew is a minimum of 9 hours designated as CORE with a minimum of 3 hours in content related to federal, RI, or local fair housing laws.

National Requirement

The Fair Housing course completion requirement is on the same cycle as Code of Ethics, which is between January 1st, 2025 - December 31st, 2027.

  • State: The RI Department of Business Regulation has a listing of all courses that fulfill the requirement, indicate “FH’.
