Virtual Classroom Code of Conduct for CE Classes

To foster a positive and engaging learning environment for all participants—and to ensure compliance with RI Department of Business Regulation virtual class policies—RI REALTORS® requires adherence to the following classroom etiquette. Non-compliance may result in one or more of the following consequences:

1. No receipt of continuing education (CE) credit or certification/designation, if applicable
2. No refund of course tuition, if applicable
3. Removal from class at the discretion of the instructor and/or class monitor

To receive CE the below policies MUST:

• Arrive for class on time.
• Your camera must remain on, and you must be visible from the shoulders up.
• Refrain from driving or riding in a vehicle as a passenger.
• If joining on a phone/iPad/tablet, your camera must be in a stationary position
• Refrain from engaging in other activities (phone calls, work, housework, cooking, childcare, exercise, dog walking, recreation, socializing, etc.)
• Refrain from recording the class or using AI note-taking apps.
• Attend for the full duration of class. Any attendee who leaves before class has completed or does not return after a scheduled break will not receive CE.

Please conduct yourself as if you were in a physical classroom, i.e.:

• Act appropriately and respectfully. Offensive and/or disruptive conduct directed at the instructor, learners, or staff will not be tolerated.
• Appropriate attire
• Refrain from lying down on a bed/sofa/etc.
• Minimize distractions and be present.

Joining the Meeting

The Zoom meeting registration link will be sent by 4:30 pm, one business day before the class, and will include a sharefile link with handouts (if applicable).

Click the Zoom Meeting Registration link and enter your information.  Click submit, and you will receive an email with the meeting link from ‘RI REALTORS® [email protected]’ (please check spam/junk if you do not see it). Read all pop-up windows carefully when joining the class. It is strongly recommended that you test your internet connection, video, and audio at https://zoom.us/test .
